Tips For Ordering Your Wedding Cake
Choosing your wedding cake can be a daunting task,
especially if you've never been involved in the world of cakes before!
The very first thing to consider is how many people you are catering
for and what flavour (or flavours) you want your cake to be.This
will determine what size cake is required.
The next step is to decide what 'look' or theme
you want your cake to have. Would you prefer something traditional
with floral sprays (sugar or fresh), novelty themed (hobbies, occupations
etc.) or perhaps you want to incorporate a mixture of both. Would
you like something serious or something a bit more wacky?
Other considerations that need to be taken into
account are:
Colours; Do you want it to match your overall colour scheme? This
is usually the norm but it doesn't have to be the rule!
If you want a more traditional looking wedding
cake the general rule is to have the base colour icing of the cake
the same colour as the bride's dress, e.g. white dress - white icing
or ivory dress - ivory icing.
Type Of Finish; What type of finish do you require?
Would you prefer a smooth sugarpaste icing (it doesn't matter what
filling is inside) or perhaps you would prefer a cake coated in
chocolate. If you choose the chocolate option would you want it
rough finished, smooth or chocolate curls?
